Medieval Spanish Literature

In 1499, an unknown 16-act play was distributed in the Spanish town of Burgos that affected the thriving of the Spanish language and writing. Known as the La Comedia of Calisto and Melibea, it turned out to be broadly famous. Accordingly, different versions were distributed in the following three years. A subsequent version fell off the press in 1500, and a third release was imprinted in 1502.
